The Seilala Legacy Series

The Seilala Legacy Series is a collection of writings by Seilala Palu that reflect on her journey through identity, struggle, resilience, faith, and purpose. Writing was one of the ways Seilala shared her truth with the world. Through her words, she explored life with honesty, compassion, and faith. Seilala shared her truth not as someone willing to keep going despite fear, pressure, and uncertainty.

These writings are shared to uplift youth and families, honor lived experience, and remind us that growth is not linear, success is not a one size fits all, and our struggles do not define our worth.

Her words continue to guide, heal, and inspire and through them, her legacy lives on.

Her Degree Was Earned. Her Legacy Walks On.

Seilala Stephanie Palu passed away on July 19, 2021 just months before she was scheduled to walk the stage and formally receive her Bachelor’s Degree in Cinema and Television Arts from California State University, Northridge (CSUN). Although she was not physically present to cross the stage, her degree was earned, awarded, and honored.

In 2022, our family celebrated Seilala’s academic achievement in the way she deserved with love, pride, and recognition of the years of hard work, sacrifice, and perseverance that led her there. Her graduation gown, diploma, and creative tools stand as a testament to her commitment to storytelling, education, and purpose.

Seilala believed deeply in growth, learning, and following one’s calling even when the journey was difficult or misunderstood. Her degree represents more than an academic milestone; it represents resilience, vision, and the courage to pursue a dream rooted in impact.
